Voyager Bank holds security in the highest regard. All of our Online Banking features are run over secure connections and data is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Online Banking feature of our web site requires a 128-bit encryption browser. For security reasons, we do not specify our exact security measures, but we want to make sure you feel secure when doing your banking online.

The human factor, what you do or don't do plays an important role in protecting the safety of your personal and financial information. Review the following information for tips on protecting your accounts, online activity and identity.

Voyager Bank will never ask for your password, account number or other personal information over the phone, text message or by e-mail. We will never send unsolicited e-mail containing attachments.

Secure Online Banking Practices

  • Monitor your account activity on a frequent basis.
  • Choose a password that, at a minimum, mixes in lower case letters, upper case letters, numbers and special characters such as !, # and %.
  • Change your password and security questions on a regular basis. To change your password and security questions:
    • Sign on to Personal Online Banking and select Options from the menu bar.
    • Click on Edit in the Password section.
  • Safeguard your user name, password and security question answers. Do not write them down or share them with anyone.
  • Watch for the Extended Validation Certificate (EVC) when accessing your online banking account. The EVC is an additional layer of security that turns the browser address bar green when a user accesses a website that is secured with an EVC SSL certificate. The green address bar provides visual confirmation that you are on a secure site. The EVC also displays the name of the website's legitimate owner (Fiserv, Inc.). EV certificates will display differently in the various browsers as illustrated below.

Browser EV Certificate

  • Always use the Log Off function when ending an online banking session. Do not close the page or "X" out of your online banking session.
  • Install and maintain anti-malware and anti-virus software.

Secure Checking and Savings Account Practices

  • Promptly review and reconcile monthly bank statements.
  • Use Personal Online Banking and Business Online Banking to monitor your account activity 24/7.
  • Enroll in eStatements for safe and secure electronic delivery of your monthly bank statements.
  • Enroll in eNotices to monitor checking and savings account activity.
  • Immediately report fraudulent activity to your Voyager Bank account representative.
  • Immediately report lost or stolen checks and ATM/Debit cards.
  • Do not include personal information (driver's license, social security, phone numbers, etc.) on your checks.
  • Store new checks, cancelled checks and monthly bank statements in a secure location.

Secure ATM Card and Debit Card Practices

  • Immediately contact your Voyager Bank account representative or call 1-800-535-8440 if your card is lost or stolen, or if you suspect fraudulent activity.
  • Promptly review and reconcile monthly bank statements.
  • Use Personal Online Banking and Business Online Banking to monitor your account activity 24/7.
  • Memorize your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Do not write it down anywhere.
  • Do not share your PIN with anyone.
  • Use secure transactions when shopping online. Look for https:// in the address bar of the site. This indicates the web page is encrypted. A lock symbol in the address bar also indicates a secure site.
  • Unless initiated by you, do not provide your card information over the phone.
  • Always destroy old/expired cards.

Secure Mobile Banking Practices

  • Utilize the key lock and screen lock features of your mobile device when not in use.
  • If your mobile device is lost or stolen:
    • Sign on to Personal Online Banking and select Options from the menu bar.
    • Click on the Mobile Banking Profile tab to remove the lost or stolen device.
  • Do not store password or account information on your mobile device.
  • Always use the Log Off function when ending a mobile banking session.
  • Delete text and e-mail messages from Voyager Bank delivered to your mobile device.

Identity Protection Tips

  • Replace all of your paper checks, statements and bills with electronic versions.
  • Enroll in eStatements for safe and secure electronic delivery of your monthly bank statements.
  • Enroll in eNotices to monitor checking and savings account activity.
  • Shred documents that contain personal information before throwing them away.
  • Never provide personal or payment information during a phone call you did not initiate.
  • Review your personal credit report annually. Free credit reports are available once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus. www.annualcreditreport.com
  • Prevent mail theft by retrieving delivered mail on a daily basis and using a postal service location for outgoing mail.

Protect Your Information

Phishing scams try to trick you into giving away your passwords, account numbers and other personal information. It is up to you to protect your password and account information. Never provide your personal information, password or account number in response to an unsolicited request.
